RMIT Islamic Society (RMITIS) is a student body that represents Muslim Students across RMIT campuses. Our main objectives are:

To assist Muslim students in understanding their religion and providing for their religious needs throughout their life at University.

 

Examples:

  • Regular Qur’an/Arabic Classes
  • Social events for sisters
  • Friday prayer services
  • Distributing multimedia material on various topics (ie. how to pray, importance of faith etc)
  • Halal restaurant guide in CBD poster
  • Ramadan Activities
  • Sporting Events

 

To create awareness of, and clear up misconceptions relating to Islam to the wider RMIT community.

  • Islamic Awareness week (each semester)
  • BBQs
  • Weekly Islamic Stalls (with free books, pamphlets, CDs, DVDs and lollies!)
  • RMITIS Website and Forum
  • Public notice board on Campus

 

We are always open to suggestions, new ideas and constructive feedback. We are always looking for volunteers who want to get involved and help us out as well!
